Why I Do This

I love this stuff. I'm easily distracted, I have too many hobbies, I'm bored doing the same thing everyday - perfect for this business.

I entered I got into M&A advisory because I've been exactly where our clients are. I know what it's like to run a business day-to-day while trying to figure out your exit strategy. I know the late nights, the tough decisions, and the weight of being responsible for your employees and their families.

When I sold my own business, I learned firsthand how important it is to have someone in your corner who truly understands what you're going through - not just the financial mechanics, but the human side of a transaction.

My Path to Trailhead

I entered acquisitions and small business ownership in 2017 when I acquired a waste management business from its retiring founder in Dallas. I led Hart Waste Removal for four years, growing the company and identifying a need for better software for waste management companies. While at Hart, I founded Hauler Software. Ultimately I decided it was time to exit, selling Hart waste in 2021 and Hauler Software in 2023. Going through the process as an owner, not an advisor, changed how I think about transactions. The stakes are different when it's your name on paperwork.

After selling my business, I worked at Transitus Capital, a boutique investment bank, before Drew and I founded Trailhead Partners.

Beyond Work

I'm based in Wimberley, a small town in the Texas Hill Country, with my wife and our three kids. We moved here from Dallas to be someplace a little smaller, and we haven't looked back. I've been a pilot since I was 18, and we're blessed to be able to explore Texas (and beyond!) by play, as well as raise three little airplane-obsessed kids.

While I'm happy to talk business, I'm always ready for chat over fly fishing, golf, or airplanes.
